Abstract :
In this paper, electric and magnetic fields of the 50 Hz frequency are analyzed as an environmental factor-for a group of typical Slovenian medium-voltage overhead electric power transmission lines and underground cable system arrangements. The field analysis is described together with a calculation method and an indication of conservatively chosen input parameters. The analysis concept that represents the procedure for the predictive determination of clearances of the known in advance geometry and electric parameters, based on the field magnitude estimation, is described. This procedure is observed in the design phase so as to assure the legally imposed permissive emission values. Maximum distances within which an excess of these limit values may be expected are estimated. The conclusions of the analysis are presented and consequences of the Slovenian nonionizing radiation legislation on the design phase of new medium-voltage electric power overhead and underground lines are analyzed
