Abstract
In this paper, a method for the optimum planning, sizing and routing of a rural medium voltage (MV) radial distribution network and the corresponding algorithm are presented. Emphasis is given on the optimum routing of the feeder, where different types of consumers are connected. The optimum design of the network is achieved by minimizing the total cost of the radial feeders for a period of N years, over which the locations and characteristics of the loads are known. The method can be applied in any other type of network. The main advantage of the developed algorithm over previously published approaches is that all cost parameters and technical or physical constraints are taken into consideration. In the authors´ knowledge, this has not been obtained until now, especially both voltage constraint and routing obstacles
