Abstract :
Among the aims of the regulation of the Electric Sector of Spain, that took effect at the end of 1997, is electricity supply at the lowest possible cost. In this way, the correct evaluation of the distribution losses becomes one of the main objectives for the electrical companies. Using the load profiles of the system customers, the problem is to estimate the losses which are produced in the distribution system. So a methodology to achieve it, using prediction intervals, is developed
