Abstract :
Fuzzy Lyapunov synthesis is a computing with words version of classical Lyapunov synthesis. In this paper we apply fuzzy Lyapunov synthesis to the systematic design of a fuzzy controller for a well known benchmark problem in nonlinear control, the rotational/translational proof-mass actuator. We demonstrate the advantages of the resulting fuzzy controller by comparing it to a previously designed linear controller
