Abstract :
Wireless 1394 specification is a newly proposed integration of the IEEE 1394 standard and the wireless access technology for broadband home networking. This paper presents the current perspective of the standard activities by the Telecommunications Advancement Organization (TAO) and Keio University for the integrated home networking as well as concerns about the possible applications and comparisons with other home networks. Mainly, the Wireless 1394 draft specifications are described in detail. The Wireless 1394 system characteristics including system architecture, network topology, physical layer and medium access control layer are discussed
