Abstract
Analog circuit realization of complex signal processing algorithms is a very promising solution for high speed, small size, and low-power applications. However imperfect characteristics of analog circuitry and sensitivity of analog data storage elements on the environment may distort the system performance. This paper presents an analog Viterbi (1979) decoder and effects of incorporating analog memory on its decoding performance under additive white Gaussian channel. The performance and complexity of the decoder are compared with those of the digital version of implementation
