Abstract :
This paper presents an unified approach of estimating the mean extra RTDs (round trip delay) cycles that a data block needs, for a successful transmission. Two ARQ approaches (ACK-NAK-based ARQ and NAK-based ARQ) with multi-copy retransmissions scheme are investigated. The system throughput is estimated after the mean extra RTD calculation. The performance of various ARQ schemes with multi-copy retransmissions can be estimated and compared using the unified expressions obtained in this paper
