Abstract :
Several key problems in model development (modeling), analysis, control, system design, and simulations are addressed and solved for nanoscale electromagnetic motors. Mathematical models are developed applying nanoelectromechanical theory, and high-fidelity analysis is performed. The operating concepts are analyzed, and controllers are designed using basic operating principles. Nonlinear proportional-integral-derivative control laws are designed using conditions imposed on the Lyapunov pair to guarantee robust stability. Performing modeling, analysis, and simulations of the closed-loop system for the nanomotor, it is shown that the design objectives are achieved
