Abstract :
Summarizes an effort to apply travel time models for transit vehicles to provide real-time arrival time information to passengers. One of the issues in applying travel time models, which is the transferability of models for use on different routes or even different cities than the models were calibrated on is examined by comparing a previously calibrated model to a recalibrated model using limited data for a second route and a model calibrated solely from the new data. Results indicate that models should not be applied to different routes without investigating the need for recalibration. It also appears that a model recalibrated on limited data will perform well compared to a route specific model
