Abstract :
This paper deals with control designs for a class of Hamiltonian systems with its applications to ordinary systems. Firstly, the observer design for the class of Hamiltonian systems is investigated and a novel design method is proposed. Secondly, the new design method is used to study the observer design for time-varying/nonlinear systems. Thirdly, the tracking control problem is investigated for Hamiltonian systems and a new tracking controller is presented for the systems. Finally, based on the energy-based design method, the tracking problem is studied for linear/time-varying systems. Simulations show that the observers/controllers obtained in this paper work very well
