Abstract :
A new distributed binary feedback power control algorithm for time-varying cellular systems is presented. Previous work in this area has focused on distributed power control for cellular systems with fixed channels and most of power control algorithms need several bits to be used for sending the power control command back to each user. In this paper, we consider a class of power control problems that the system link gains are assumed to be time varying and only one bit is sent back to each transmitter. It is proved that the received SIR of each user falls within a certain specific range that is determined by an SIR target and a power control step-size. The proposed scheme can be adopted in practical mobile communication systems
