Abstract
The non-preemptive priority scheduling method is introduced into the switched industrial Ethernet. By using the non-preemptive M/G/1 queuing model, we analyze the delays of the different priorities of tasks and obtain their delay curves. A switched industrial Ethernet model with topology, where the priorities of the tasks are distinguished by the addresses of the hardware, the ports of the Ethernet and the labels of the priorities in the MAC layer, is designed with two queues of real-time messages and non-real-time messages are introduced for transmitting. The result of the simulation validates the validity and the feasibility of this scheduling method
