Abstract :
This paper presents a monitoring and controlling system for combustion based on image processing and analysis, especially describes the temperature distribution estimation theory and a developed algorithm for automatically measuring. The camera-protecting box is a cooling system; therefore, the camera can be put in a burner in which the temperature can be up to 1500 degree. To automatically measuring flame and temperature distributions in a 3D space in a burner, 4 cameras are implemented in a burner. The flame regions are determined based on the color and grey values of images, based on a multiple thresholding algorithm. A number of algorithms were studied and developed. The algorithm has been tested and applied in different burners in Sweden, it works satisfactorily
