Abstract :
A single multi-port planar optical device is able to generate and process simultaneously all the entries of a code family. If we use a single input laser pulse, a set of phase shifted keyed (PSK) codes are generated that can be used in a code-division multiple access (CDMA) network to transmit a large number of asynchronous users. With different combinations of input laser pulses, it is possible to obtain multi-dimensional codes, that can be used to write multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) labels directly in the optical domain
