Abstract :
This paper discusses theory of secondary arc current on UHV double-circuit lines and introduces 2 compensation schemes: the neutral reactors of shunt reactor compensation and high-speed grounding switches. Using a practical UHV double-circuit line as an example, the mathematical model based on the practical parameters has been built using PSCAD/EMTDC. When the model utilizes 2 compensation schemes respectively, the secondary arc current is carried out in the case of different fault types. By synthetically comparing and analyzing, the neutral reactors of shunt reactor compensation are more suitable for UHV lines which have no transposition.
