Abstract :
In this paper, the mathematical relationship between thermal conductivity and core temperature is theoretically given by studying the equivalent thermal circuit of 110kV power cable. It shows that core temperature is sensitive to change of the air gap´s thermal conductivity. Finally the effects on core temperature of cable by the thermal conductivity of air gap layer is verified by the finite element cable model. Furthermore, harms and mechanism of cable wetting are deeply analyzed.
