Abstract :
A look-ahead velocity blending model for consecutive small line blocks is proposed in this paper to generate a smooth feedrate profile. Firstly, acceleration and deceleration velocity polynomial is constructed for one single small line. Then a velocity blending model for two small lines is presented, which takes displacement, velocity and acceleration constraints into consideration and therefore makes improvements on exsiting ones. The blend model can be used to build an approximate optimal feedrate for whole tool path. Finally simulations are performed to validate the proposed model.
