Abstract :
The continued success of the IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters (AWPL) is demonstrated by the increase in the number of submissions to the journal in 2012 and the increase in the number of printed pages. Compared to the previous year, in 2012 there was a growth of nearly 12% in the number of submissions and 7% in the number of printed pages. In fact, with 1835 submissions and 1800 printed pages, 2012 represented the largest volume published to date. Despite the steady growth, the journal has been able to retain its leadership spot among IEEE journals in terms of the median number of weeks from submission to posting on IEEE Xplore. In the third quarter of 2012, the median time from submission to posting was, in fact, 9.8 weeks. The review time has also remained one of the fastest among IEEE journals: approximately 38 days on average from submission to decision. Figures are provided that shows the time from submission to decision in 2012 and the number of papers by recommendation. Overall, approximately 45% of papers submitted were accepted for publication.
