Abstract
This paper is concerned with a numerical scheme to the inverse source problem, called Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO), which is a population-based stochastic optimization method. It is based on the simulation of the social behavior of birds within a flock. Application to the acoustic source localization (ASL) with two and three sources is discussed. Compared with parallel optimization and other methods, it shows that it has high accuracy and low cost.
