Abstract :
Abstract-ISRO´s Earth Observation programme began back in the late seventies and early eighties. After over three decades of expansion, the programme now conducts Earth observation from LEO and GEO orbits, and operates a large number of sensors in visible, infrared, microwave and millimeter bands. ISRO´s EO programme had been primarily developed within India, but recently ISRO is incorporating international collaborations into the mix of its EO missions. In a similar fashion, science and application programmes that were mainly focused on India are now being expanded to include global observations, recognizing the influence of global weather and ecosystems on corresponding parameters within India´s geographic boundary.
