Abstract :
Presents a response to comments made on the paper "Transferred potential - a hidden killer of many linemen" (K. Suresh and S. Paranthaman, IEEE Trans. Ind. Appl., vol. 51, no. 3, pp. 2691-9, May/Jun. 2015). In response to the discussions on the above paper, the authors note that discarding the practice of providing protective grounding at the source end of a deenergized line and including it in a relevant standard needs a lot of support. The authors are thankful to David Shipp and Marcelo E. Valdes for presenting their comments in support of modifying present grounding practices.
