Abstract :
The author was asked to share a few words about her leadership experiences as a woman working in industry, so she relates some of her experiences within the field of computer science from the perspective of her background, which is heavily defense and industry. She considers that we are all somewhat a product of the times in which we live, and so her perspective on leadership is being presented against the backdrop of a few of her career experiences. She strongly believes that leadership development is a lifelong journey. Any leadership ability is a sum of the activities and challenges we experience, the opportunities we take, and the goals we set.
