Abstract :
It was in 2005 that some leading members of the Network of Excellence ACE, originated within the 6th Framework Pro gramme of the European Commission, decided to create a European Conference on Antennas and Propagation, inheriting the legacy of prestigious pioneer conferences such as JINA in France, and ICAP in the UK. The seed group of the first EuCAP Steering Committee met during the IEEE AP-S Symposium in Washington, DC, in July 2005 (Figure 1). In November 2005, the EurAAP Association was then created in Brussels, Belgium, to provide a legal framework for the EuCAP Conferences and to support other activities aimed at bringing benefits to the European antennas and propagation community, such as the European School of Antennas (ESoA).
