  • Abstract
In the United States today, there is still a gender pay gap. The National Committee on Pay Equity reports that women working full time earn 77% on the male dollar, and, according to The WAGE Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending workplace discrimination against women, during "her working life, a woman will earn US$1 million less than a man simply because she is a woman." No doubt, the gap has narrowed slightly over the past few decades. In 1980, American women made about 64% as much as men. Yet the wage gap remains one indication that gender inequity in the workplace persists.
