Abstract :
Prof. Bimal K. Bose, IEEE Life Fellow and Condra Chair of Excellence (Endowed Chair) in Power Electronics at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, was invited by the IEEE Argentina Section Joint Chapter (Control Systems Society/ Industrial Electronics Society (IES)/ Industry Applications Society/Power Electronics Society/Robotics and Automation Society/Vehicular Technology Society) to give his IES Distinguished Lecture. The lecture, "Energy, Environment and Power Electronics," was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 4 October 2012 and was coorganized by the Joint Chapter and the Argentine Automatic Control Association. The presentation was attended by more than 50 participants, including faculties and students from different universities around the country as well as industry professionals. A brief review of the presentation is given.
