Abstract :
The convergence between the telecom, Internet, and lately web worlds has been progressing at different speeds and with different results over the last decade. Everything started with the VoIP effort in the late -90s and is continuing nowadays with both IETF and W3C involvement in standardizing Web Real Time Communication (WebRTC).
