Abstract :
I started preparing my fourth-quarter message on the plane flying back home to California from the IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE) 2014 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I am excited to report that the ECCE conference enjoyed yet another record year, indicating that this series may very well be at the cusp of taking off. Likewise, our ECCE global series also enjoyed record attendances at the 2014 ECCE Asia?IEEE International Power Electronics Conference (IPEC) in May in Hiroshima, Japan, and at the 2014 ECCE Europe?European Conference on Power Electronics and Applications (EPE) in August in Lappeenranta, Finland. The EPE was the very first conference in an even year in the EPE?s entire history. We have doubled the frequency of the EPE and more than doubled the total attendance.
