Abstract :
The authors of [1] present a fast controlled islanding algorithm to split a large-scale power system into islands for avoiding a large-area blackout. The work represents an interesting contribution. The proposed algorithm is based on the two-step spectral clustering, and employed to identify a suitable islanding solution that satisfies the constraint of generator coherency and presents a minimal power-flow disruption. We would greatly appreciate the authors´ responses on the following issues.
