Abstract :
This paper presents a millimeter wave wideband differential line to waveguide transition using a short ended slot line. The slot line connected in parallel to the rectangular waveguide can effectively compensate the frequency dependence of the susceptance in the waveguide. Thus it is suitable to achieve a wideband characteristic together with a simpler structure. It is experimentally demonstrated that the proposed transitions have the relative bandwidth of 20.2 % with respect to -10 dB reflection, which is a significant wideband characteristic compared with the conventional transition´s bandwidth of 11%.
