Abstract
This article provides an analytical derivation of the output characteristic of the optical sensor based on the geometry of the system “receiver-emitter”. We determined nature of the influence of parameters such as the center distance between the transmitter and the receiver, the angle of the transmitter and receiver on the general form of the output characteristics. We derived the general laws and recommendations on the use of an optical sensor for the measurement of small linear displacement.
