  • Abstract
Next generation passive optical network (NG-PON), which aims at providing cost-effective solutions to the ever-increasing bandwidth demand of the end-customers with data rate of 100-Gb/s, is attracting more and more attentions. In this paper, a symmetric 100-Gb/s DSP-enhanced TWDM-PON architecture with four pairs of wavelengths is proposed. 4×25-Gb/s TWDM-OFDM-PON is experimentally demonstrated over 26.7 km fiber using double sideband (DSB) modulation. The employment of RSOA is also investigated to enhance the receiver sensitivity.
