Abstract :
Spectrum sensing performance is highly degraded due to log-normal shadowing, resulting in more interference to the primary user caused by secondary users. However, collaborative sensing provides diversity that helps to alleviate the effect of shadowing. In this paper, a closed-form of the probability of detection under log-normal shadowing is derived, and the performance of this closed-form in collaborative sensing is investigated via Complementary Receiver Operating Characteristic (CROC) curves for both hard fusion and soft fusion rules.
