Abstract :
As the data volume increasing and function expanding, train communication networks are developing from train control networks to multi-function communication networks. This paper compares three typical train network architectures which are applicable for train control and condition monitoring, including Train Monitoring Networks based on Industrial Field Bus, Wired Ethernet and WLAN. The advantages and pitfalls of each architecture are analyzed. In addition, this paper proposes a novel architecture called Hybrid Train Monitoring Network. It integrates advantages of existing networks, and is universal and reconfigurable to kinds of situations.
