Abstract :
The O-ring Static Seal Structure is widely used in modern aviation industry. As a product with high reliability and long lifetime, its life prediction method attracts more and more attention in recent researches. In this paper, a life prediction method is put forward on basis of Physics of Failure. Firstly, the main failure mechanism of the O-ring Static Seal Structure is concluded through the analysis of the failure mechanism. Secondly, according to the main failure mechanism, the accelerated degradation test is designed. Thirdly, from the analysis of the test data, the degradation model for sealing performance is established. Then, combined with the degradation model and the failure threshold, the life of the O-ring Static Seal Structure is determined. At last, the method is applied to predict the life of one specific O-ring Static Seal Structure used in the hydraulic servo actuator, and its result proves the rationality and feasibility of the method proposed in this paper.
