Abstract :
An advanced remote monitoring and fleet management system is a technology platform which collects data continuously from remote voyaged ships. All operation data about ship and its on-board machinery can be upload to this land-based system. Data collected can be categorized into several groups, such as GPS related ship movement, its position, direction and speed; machinery operation data as engine cylinder temperature and pressure, rotation speed and exhaust temperature; Lubricating oil on-line monitoring data, as its viscosity, moisture, particle count, dielectric permittivity. And many others. These remote ship field operation and condition data are lively uni-casted to fleet monitoring server system in real time, and then be distributed to the logged users. As data is critical for scientific research, so we propose a networked live lab system, which providing a well-defined data access interface, to distribute live data stream and its operation history to worldwide researchers, 365*24, day and night, to conduct research in the condition monitoring, safety and reliability, and design optimization fields.
