Abstract
After decades of development, comprehensive understandings on intermittent failures have been formed. However, there are still deficiencies among some of these understandings, which may affect the analysis of intermittent failures, and lead to incorrect or undesirable results. This paper points out these deficiencies by principle of falsification, that is, experiments or examples from various literatures are used to prove the understandings to be wrong. Meanwhile, we give improved ideas to overcome these deficiencies. Furthermore, based on the new ideas, we proposed an LCP (life cycle profile)-based description approach for intermittent failures.
