Abstract :
A new category of time amplifiers (TA) based on phase accumulation of voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) is proposed. This new technique avoids the use of circuit metastability as conventional TA architectures, and achieves time amplification with digitally controlled and well defined gain. Using the proposed mechanism, two different TA topologies are presented in this paper.
