Abstract :
In this paper, an overview of a miniaturized high performance spectrometer with a brief description of the equipment and technology will be presented focusing on its main application and performance. We discuss the development of a miniature C+L band spectrometer, operating in the 1500-1600 nm region, based on a diffractive optic technology. The main device used is focused on FBG interrogation for transducing applications since FBG sensors exceed other conventional electric sensors in many aspects, for instance, immunity to electromagnetic interference, compact size, light weight, flexibility, stability, high temperature tolerance, and resistive to harsh environment.
