Abstract :
Filter Bank Multicarrier (FBMC) is an efficient multicarrier modulation characterized by its good spectral efficiency and low out of band leakage. Nevertheless, FBMC signals suffer from the high Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR). This leads nonlinear devices such as Power Amplifiers, when used, to operate in their saturation region which may severely impair system performance. In this paper, we propose a PAPR reduction technique based on the combination of Hadamard transform with the exponential companding transform. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can offer better PAPR reduction than exponential companding and Hadamard transforms when used separately.
