Abstract
This paper proposes the use of soft-thresholding denoising to improve the signal-to-noise ratio in a simple envelope detector followed by a decision threshold block. Simulation results for a received useful signal perturbed by additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) using the denoising systems, indicate that the probability of detection increases at the same probability of false alarm.
