  • Abstract
Waveform optimization for radar/sonar systems has been recently developed, especially after cognitive radar is proposed. The waveform optimization is different as a result of different tasks of radar systems. Usually, an optimized waveform just only aims at one task in most research. In this paper, an novel algorithm is proposed to generate the transmitted signal for multi-task of radar systems. The proposed algorithm combines waveform design with transmitted parameter selection. The waveform design based on maximizing signal-to-noise ratio criterion is for target detection, then, combing the designed waveform based on SNR criterion with the parameter selection generates the optimal signal for target tracking. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm for improving target tracking after the designed optimal waveform for target detection document.
