Abstract :
We developed new photo-alignment technology for large size LCD-TV panels and have successfully adopted it at the Gen 10 and Gen 8 factories. We named our technology “UltraViolet induced multi-domain Vertical Alignment (UV2A).” This technology drastically improves transmittance, contrast ratio and response time of the LCD panel. From an eco-friendly point of view, the UV2A is quite superior to conventional MVA.
