Abstract :
The Data Collection System (DCS) instrument on board the Argentine satellite SAC-D receives messages sent from environmental Data Collection Platforms (DCP). DCS system requirements not considered the positioning of the platform as a first step. As a result, the receiver does not have access to the GPS time information of the mission OBT (On Board Time). This paper deals with the problem of obtaining the position of the DCP located on the earth´s surface, using the received frequency measurements estimated when signal is detected.
