Generación de residuos electrónicos en la ciudad de Córdoba: Acercamiento a un plan de gestión integral

In Argentine, like other countries of the world, information technologies and communications have had a significant boom in recent years. Consequently waste generation has increased, waste called e-scrap, e-waste or Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). This complex fraction of municipal solid waste must be treated in a particular way because of the quantities and variety of its constituents elements. While international statistics about WEEE generation are available, this information is intimately associated to the custom and economic status of the society. For this reason is difficult to extrapolate international statistics to the local scope. In this paper we present a research carried out during 2012-2013 to obtain data of WEEE generation in the Cordoba city, Argentina. This information is essential for the elaboration of a waste management plan in a territory.
