Abstract :
This paper focuses on the selection and sizing of components for a hybrid electric vehicle powered by a PEM fuel cell and lithium-ion batteries. For this purpose driving cycles with elevation profiles were made selecting representative vehicular traffic routes within the city of Córdoba and collecting data through a GPS (speed, time and altitude). Through the computational simulation, the dynamic behavior of the systems was obtained with the proposed requirements of the vehicle, allowing to analyze the adequacy of the selected components and compare the fuel consumption and performance with those of an internal combustion vehicle. In addition, the levels of CO2 emissions produced by an electric car in Argentina are calculated and compared with those of an internal combustion.
