Abstract
Nodes in ad hoc networks rely on batteries with limited capacity. As result, this imposes constraints on the network lifetime. In order to maximize the network lifetime, routing protocols should deliver traffic in a way that the energy consumption is minimized. This paper discusses the problem of energy saving in QoS multicast routing of ad hoc wireless networks. Our goal is to find a network topology that has the minimum energy consumption and satisfies the QoS requirements with the maximization of the network lifetime. The problem is formulated as an integer linear programming problem along with a set of power and QoS constraints.
