Abstract
In this paper, an all-optical fully-digital dual-band radar (DBR) is presented. The proposed radar architecture uses a single mode-locked laser for optically generating and receiving the RF signals, taking advantage of the high bandwidth and flexibility provided by the photonic technologies to simultaneously generate and detect two signals in the S and X bands. The use of a single laser reduces system complexity and costs. The paper details on the working principle and it reports system performance through the Doppler shift measurement of a real target.
