Abstract :
This paper evaluated the performance of joint direction-of-departure (DOD) and direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation in ultra wideband (UWB) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radars detecting a target with fluctuating radar cross sections (RCS). The UWB MIMO radar utilized a combination of two-way multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm and majority decision scheme. Numerical simulations were carried out to evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme while detecting Weibull targets using UWB signals with different bandwidth. It was found that the estimation performance improved with increasing signal bandwidth.
