Abstract :
In motor drive systems, the most suitable gains change according to the operating state. As such, in order to achieve a high-performance control, the gains of the current and speed controller must be tuned according to the operating state. In this study, we propose an auto-tuning method for a current and speed controller based on the parameter identification. First, the resistance, including the on-resistance of the IGBT, and the d- and q-axis inductances are identified at standstill. Second, after the motor starts up, the magnet flux linkage, the inertia moment, and the viscous friction coefficient are also identified using the parameters identified at standstill. Finally, the controller gains are determined by substituting the identified values into the derived relationship between control gains and motor parameters. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified experimentally.
