Abstract :
Substation area protection application is one of the significant characteristics of the new generation smart substation. Substation area protection, contains BZT devices, line protections and bus differential protections in a set, provides redundancy for in situ protections. Higher requirements is put forward for collaborative work performance between different types and manufactures of protections as the highly integrated nature of substation area protection. This paper presents a new substation area protection method based on intelligent relay-protection collaborative testing system(IRPCTS). SCD file matches, GOOSE virtual terminal associated characteristics and coordination work performance between IED devices have been verified by the simple bus protection testing based on IRPCTS platform.
